Terms
Last updated 15 September 2026
These are the terms you agree to when you use CutSmith. Plain words, and we mean them literally.
What CutSmith does
You upload a reaction recording and the song you reacted to. CutSmith produces an edited draft, quality checks, a storyboard of every decision, and — on a Full edit — a thumbnail, title suggestions, a Short and a timeline for your editing software. You review the draft, mark what you would change, and re-draft as many times as you like.
Music rights are yours
CutSmith edits your video. It does not clear music rights. We do not obtain licences for the music in your recording and we cannot protect you from a copyright claim, a Content ID match or a strike. Whether you may use a piece of music is between you, the rights holder and the platform you publish on.
Your footage is yours
You keep every right you had in what you upload, and you own what comes out. We take only the permission we need to run the service for you: to store your files, process them, and show you the result. That permission ends when you delete the material.
What you promise us
- You have the right to upload what you upload, including everyone in it.
- You will not upload anything unlawful, or anything you were not permitted to record.
- You will not resell the service or use it to process someone else’s footage without their say-so.
What counts as a video
One video is about ten minutes of finished edited footage; a twenty-minute final video counts as two. The hours of raw you upload never count. A video is counted against your plan when the first draft is delivered — not when you upload — and re-drafts of the same video are always free.
Billing
Plans are billed monthly in advance through Stripe. An upgrade takes effect immediately and is prorated; a downgrade takes effect at the end of the period. You can cancel at any time and keep access until the period ends. We do not give refunds for time already served, but if the service failed you, tell us and we will make it right.
Beta
CutSmith is in beta. Things will break, turnaround is not yet guaranteed, and some features described on this site are still being finished. We will not pretend otherwise. If a draft fails, you are not charged for it.
Ending it
You can close your account whenever you like. We can suspend an account that is being used unlawfully or that is not paid, and we will tell you why. Suspension blocks new uploads; your finished outputs stay available.
The boring but necessary part
The service is provided as it is. We are not liable for lost profits, lost views or consequential loss, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
CutSmith runs this service. It is in beta and these terms will be reviewed by a lawyer before general release, when the governing law will be stated here.
